Coinciding with a new start upon the complete integration of the DAIICHI SANKYO Group, we have amended our Corporate Conduct Charter and Standards of Conduct for Compliance.

The DAIICHI SANKYO Group aims to contribute to a healthy and prosperous life for people worldwide through the continual development and provision of innovative pharmaceuticals.

In every aspect of our business activities, the group will comply with laws and regulations and promote compliance-based management with high ethical standards. We will promote our corporate values (social, economic, and Humanistic values) in a well-balanced proportions to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.

With a spirit of challenge and creative ingenuity, all employees, including board members, corporate auditors, and corporate officers, will act within the highest standards of professionalism and work together toward actively fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities.

The corporate mission* of the DAIICHI SANKYO Group is "To contribute to the enrichment of quality of life around the world through the creation and provision of innovative pharmaceuticals."

The basic policy of the group's management is to implement a compliance program to practice the "DAIICHI SANKYO Group Corporate Conduct Charter" and to "earn society's trust and support as a sincere corporation."

We have made every effort to comply with the appropriate rules, laws, and ordinances by establishing various guidelines and self-imposed standards for our individual business activities.

On September 28, 2005, on the occasion of the incorporation of DAIICHI SANKYO Company, Limited, we presented the "DAIICHI SANKYO Group Corporate Conduct Charter" and enacted the "Standards of Conduct for Compliance" for board members, corporate auditors, corporate officers and all employees of the group companies.

As a fully integrated company in April 2007, DAIICHI SANKYO Group aims to manage its business by putting the utmost priority on compliance as a truly global pharmaceutical innovator and as a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company.

I urge all employees, including board members, corporate auditors and corporate officers, to act with even greater disciplined awareness and work together toward actively fulfilling the corporation's social responsibilities.

* Our new corporate mission is the result of re-evaluation done after our complete integration as the DAIICHI SANKYO Group on April 1, 2007.
