Daiichi Sankyo's Research Foundation Establishes First Annual Clinical Pharmacology Research Award
Tokyo, November 13, 2008 - DAIICHI SANKYO COMPANY, LIMITED announced that its affiliate, the Japan Research Foundation for Clinical Pharmacology (headquarters: Tokyo, Director General: Tadashi Suzuki) has established "Japan Research Foundation for Clinical Pharmacology Research Award" to recognize excellence in regards to research results in the field of clinical pharmacology.
Award winners are selected from research papers submitted from projects funded with subsidies from the foundation. Innovative research projects with expectations for future development are eligible for the award.
The first award ceremony was held today. The Foundation hopes that the award will motivate young researchers in clinical pharmacology involved in development new drugs and establishment of appropriate drug treatments to encourage future research results.
The mission of the Foundation is to promote clinical pharmacology and to foster clinical pharmacologists. The Foundation was established in 1975 and in its 33-year history it has worked on a variety of projects relating to clinical pharmacology including promotion of research, overseas studies for Japanese researchers and Asian international collaboration.
