Is there a language requirement?
Answer:
Candidates must be able to speak English or Japanese.
Applications must be written in English.
Question:
Can I include figures and tables in my application?
Answer:
Yes. Please include all figures and tables in your completed application form. Do not send them as separate files.
Question:
How much detail should I provide in my application?
Answer:
We are looking for a summary of your research plan and objectives. You may also include copies of short papers for academic journals/international conferences. Please do not include confidential data such as pre-published results and pre-applied patents.
Question:
Is there a word count or file size limit for the application file?
Answer:
There is no word count limit for the application file. However, a 1MB (megabytes) or smaller PDF is preferred.
Question:
Can I apply to TaNeDS if I have already applied (or, am going to apply) to other firms' private grants programs similar to TaNeDS?
Answer:
Yes. However, we reserve the right to decline your application if you are accepted to another firms' private grant prior to our final decision.
Question:
I am an employee/management member/advisory board member of a startup company (venture company). Can I still apply to TaNeDS?
Answer:
You will still be eligible to apply.
Question:
Do I have any obligation to Daiichi Sankyo and TaNeDS after being awarded the TaNeDS grant?
Answer:
Yes, you are obligated to observe the terms and agreement between your institution and Daiichi Sankyo. The terms and agreement may include a restriction for applying to other grants with the same research you are conducting for TaNeDS. This restriction would last for a given period of time.

How will you notify me of your decision?
Answer:
We will notify you of our decision on your application by e-mail.
Question:
What will you do with my application information?
Answer:
We will use the information contained in your application only for our selection purposes. Your information and documents will be reviewed only by select members of the Daiichi Sankyo Group. We will not disclose the fact that you applied to TaNeDS, nor any of your application information.
Question:
Who will review my application?
Answer:
Only selected members in Daiichi Sankyo Group will review each application.
Question:
I would like to know the publication policy of TaNeDS.
Answer:
If selected as TaNeDS programme, we may ask to consider the timing of your publication.
Question:
How do you deal with intellectual property generated from TaNeDS?
Answer:
The ownership of IPs will be determined based on the inventorship.
You are obligated to observe our intellectual property policy in the agreement between your institution and Daiichi Sankyo.
Question:
Can I use the TaNeDS grant for personnel expenses?
Answer:
Yes. You can use TaNeDS grant for personnel expenses such as hiring post-doctoral researchers.
