Daiichi Sankyo, in collaboration with AMDA Multisectoral and Integrated Development Services, launched a campaign titled “Promotion of the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) control in Madagascar.”

In Madagascar, NCDs, such as hypertension, diabetes, cervical cancer, and breast cancer, pose a serious public health challenge. As of 2018, NCDs accounted for 43% of all causes of death, affecting people of all ages and genders.
In particular, the target area of Manjakandriana District, services and access for NCDs prevention and care are extremely limited. There is a shortage of trained personnel with experience in cancer screening, as well as insufficient equipment and supplies, making it impossible to conduct screenings effectively.
To address these challenges, the project focuses on the Manjakandriana District in Analamanga Region, aiming to create an environment where local residents can actively engage in NCDs prevention, early detection, and management. This will be achieved through awareness-raising activities and strengthening screening systems, ultimately improving overall health conditions.
Through these activities, we will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3: “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”.
