Daiichi Sankyo Selected for Silver Class of RobecoSAM Sustainability Award 2018
TOKYO, Japan (February 2, 2018) – Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (hereafter, Daiichi Sankyo) today announced that it has been selected for the Silver Class of the RobecoSAM*1 Sustainability Award 2018 in the Pharmaceuticals sector. Daiichi Sankyo is the first Japanese company to be selected for a RobecoSAM Sustainability Award medal distinction.
Silver Class distinction is given to all companies within the range of 1 to 5% of the industry’s top performance company’s score. Daiichi Sankyo was recognized within the entire Environmental Dimension, including Climate Strategy. The Company was also recognized for its strong performance in the area of Codes of Business Conduct and Materiality*2 in the Economic Dimension, and Health Outcome Contribution and Occupational Health and Safety and Strategy to Improve Access to Drugs in the Social Dimension.
In 2017, Daiichi Sankyo was also the first Japanese company from the pharmaceutical sector to be listed on the ESG investment*4 index of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)*3 World Index.
