Daiichi Sankyo Announces Closure of Daiichi Sankyo Chemical Pharma Hiratsuka Plant
TOKYO, Japan (March 31, 2016) – Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (hereafter Daiichi Sankyo) today announced its decision to close the Hiratsuka plant owned by its subsidiary, Daiichi Sankyo Chemical Pharma Co., Ltd. (hereafter, DSCP).
1. Reason for Closure
In April 2015, the Daiichi Sankyo Group restructured domestic supply chain subsidiaries, aggregating API production within DSCP to further enhance business operations.
Subsequently, a comprehensive assessment toward making API production more efficient and more competitive on a global level led to the decision to close the DSCP Hiratsuka Plant.
