We conducted a survey on Daiichi Sankyo's aspirational culture for employees worldwide in 2020, and identified the following strengths and opportunities based on the results.

Strengths:
・Respect for people
・Integrity
Opportunities:
・Cultural disconnects across regions, functions, and therapeutic areas
・Lack of clear translation from strategy into action and ownership and alignment across leaders
・Inefficiency in how work gets done
・Insufficient focus on talent development outside Japan and lack of pipeline for truly global talent
・Fear of failure inhibits creativity and initiative-taking at the individual and team levels

With this input, the global top management team held intensive discussions regarding what actions are necessary to overcome our challenges and build on our strengths to foster a unified culture. We concluded that the consistent practice of three specific Core Behaviors among all Daiichi Sankyo employees would cultivate our desired One DS Culture.
