The Daiichi Sankyo Group has submitted a commitment letter to the Science Based Targets (SBT) Initiative* declaring its goals for reducing GHG emissions, including net-zero standard. To achieve net-zero GHG emissions by FY2050, we aim to obtain net-zero certification for our "Transition Plan for Climate Change" and targets.

The Daiichi Sankyo Group promotes environmental management as we recognize that environmental issues, including global warming and intensifying weather-related disasters which now threats to the sustainable development of society as well as people’s health; which is a risk that could affect our long-term business foundation, including the stable supply of pharmaceuticals. Through the process of obtaining net-zero certification, we will continue to achieve a higher level of sustainable management and be even more proactive in our mitigation and adaptation measures to climate change.

The Daiichi Sankyo Group's GHG emissions reduction targets (Scope1+Scope2) and supplier engagement target (Scope3) have been approved as 1.5℃ targets by SBTi.

* An international initiative that encourage companies to set CO2 reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement goals.
