DAIICHI SANKYO to Dissolve Subsidiary

Tokyo, December 21, 2007 - DAIICHI SANKYO COMPANY, LIMITED (President: TakashiShoda, hereafter "DAIICHI SANKYO") announces that the dissolution of its subsidiary Sankyo Lifetech Co., Ltd. was approved at its Board of Directors meeting. The impact of this dissolution on the earnings of DAIICHI SANKYO of the fiscal year ending March 2008 will be negligible.

1. Reason for dissolution
The DAIICHI SANKYO Group has been in the process of making non-pharmaceutical businesses independent. After spinning off Sankyo Lifetech's main businesses, such as the veterinary pharmaceutical business, food additive business, contract synthesis of medical drugs business (bulk powder), chemical products business and manufacture and sales of ant repellant and hygienic pesticide with household pest management services in March, 2007 to third parties, Sankyo Lifetech has overseen post-transfer duties. The decision was made to dissolve as completion of post-transfer duties nears.
